Dr. Allwin George is a Consultant Medical and Haemato-Oncologist at AKG Memorial Co-operative Hospital, Kannur. He joined the hospital as a full-time consultant in January 2024. With more than 12 years of experience in oncology and formal super-specialty training in Medical Oncology and haemato-oncology,he specialises in the comprehensive treatment of solid tumours and cancers of the blood and lymphatic system.

Training and Clinical Experience

Dr. Allwin completed his MD in Radiation Oncology at Government Cancer Hospital, Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Medical College, Indore, followed by a DM in Medical Oncology from Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences, Kochi—a premier quaternary-care teaching hospital recognised for its advanced cancer services, multidisciplinary clinical training, research and academic excellence.

His combined training in Radiation Oncology and Medical Oncology gives him a comprehensive understanding of cancer care. This enables him to plan and coordinate treatments involving anti-cancer medicines, radiotherapy and surgery according to each patient’s diagnosis and individual needs.

Before joining AKG Hospital, Dr. Allwin worked and gained clinical experience at institutions including Government Cancer Hospital, Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Medical College, Indore; Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences, Kochi; and Malabar Cancer Centre, Thalassery-- an autonomous comprehensive cancer centre under the Government of Kerala, recognised for specialised cancer treatment, postgraduate education and oncology research.

During his tenure at these institutions, Dr. Allwin managed patients with a broad range of common, complex and advanced cancers. Working across different regions of India gave him experience in caring for patients from diverse geographical, socioeconomic, cultural and linguistic backgrounds. This exposure has strengthened his ability to communicate sensitively, understand individual circumstances and develop treatment plans that are both medically appropriate and practical for each patient.
