Admission & Discharge Process
At AKG Memorial Co-operative Hospital, we strive to make every patient's journey smooth, transparent, and comfortable. Our dedicated team ensures that admission and discharge procedures are completed efficiently while providing the highest standard of patient care.
Admission Process
Every patient receives a unique Hospital Identification Number (UHID). Our OPD or Emergency staff guide patients and their attendants to the admission desk, where the admission process begins.
- Our financial counsellor explains room categories, treatment charges, and provides an estimated cost of care.
- For insured patients, the required advance is collected and pre-authorisation is initiated with the insurance provider.
- After completing admission formalities, our support staff escort the patient safely to the allotted room or ward.
- Our nursing and patient relation teams coordinate with pharmacy, diagnostics, housekeeping, dietary, and other departments to ensure a comfortable hospital stay.
Discharge Process
The discharge process begins once the treating consultant approves discharge. Depending on the billing method, the process generally takes between 2 to 6 hours.
- The nursing team prepares the discharge summary and completes all departmental clearances.
- Unused medicines are returned, and discharge medications are arranged through the pharmacy.
- Patients and attendants receive complete instructions regarding medications, follow-up care, and home management.
- The final bill is settled through cash, card, or approved digital payment methods.
- For insurance cases, the Patient Relation Team coordinates with the concerned TPA or insurance provider to complete the final authorization process.
